Featuring performances by
The Mrs. is an all-female rock band in their 30s and 40s with a hit single and an inspiring message. Andra Liemandt is the founder and drummer of The Mrs. and is considered by her bandmates as “the driving force” behind The Mrs.
Andra’s passion, strength and positive energy has turned a personal project into a female empowerment movement to change the often negative way women see themselves — and to convince women everywhere that they are, indeed, ENOUGH!
The Mrs. brings with them The Magic Mirror project, which reinforces self-esteem and confidence in all those that experience it. Their message of I’m enough and their newly launched app, which you all should download today, are in total alignment with NEDA and also Mall of America!http://themrs.com/enough/
Saint Paul Ballet is a young and passionate company of dancers who come in all shapes and sizes. In conversations about the stereotype of the ballet body image, dancers began to tell their individual stories of struggles and successes. This was so empowering they created a campaign to share with other dancers and the community. Take Back The Tutu takes ownership of the art and throws aside the idea that "we have to look a certain way to wear the tutu." Saint Paul Ballet is honored to be included in the NEDA Walk celebration. Today’s piece Shifts, by choreographer Kinsun Chan, is an excerpt from their upcoming performances in March. We hope it will lift your spirits as we celebrate being healthy and happy in our own skin.
