WARRIOR: (1) a brave or experienced soldier or fighter (2) a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness
At least 30 million people of all ages and genders suffer from an eating disorder in the U.S.
Every 62 minutes at least one person dies as a direct result from an eating disorder.
Eating disorders have the highest morality rate of any mental illness.
I am walking for hope, for everyone who has died, for everyone who can not receive treatment, and for my life back. I am one of the people fortunate enough to have received treatment for my eating disorder. Although I didn't believe it at the time, going through treatment saved my life. I spent 74 days impatient at Remuda Ranch in AZ. There I met the girls who get me through the day and made friendships I am confident I will never loose. That was about two years ago, and today I am flourishing. I can confidently say I am in recovery and work every day to fight the demons that tried to take my life away. I walk with NEDA to help raise money for all the people who can not receive the treatment I was fortunate enough to have. Every person struggling deserves recovery and an ED free life. I am confident NEDA can help countless families struggling with this horrible disease in their life.
