before we run, we have to walk...
...before we walk, we have to crawl.
THIS SATURDAY, May 13th, we will walk or crawl on our hands and knees if that's all we can do.
Thank you for taking the step to CLICK the link instead of just "liking" it! Congratulations!
Many of you know my personal story, so I will not go into detail here. If you would like to read more about my story, please visit chloemackenzie.com/stories. Here's some information about NEDA that I have not included in my personal entries.
- 30 million men and women will suffer from an eating disorder in their lifetimes. This is one of the many reasons that I am participating in a NEDA Walk to benefit the National Eating Disorders Association. NEDA is a nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving programs and services to individuals and families affected by eating disorders. NEDA is dedicated to eliminating the stigma surrounding eating disorders, promoting positive body image and providing resources for those ready to seek help.
I am asking for your support to help me reach my $2,500 fundraising goal (if we can go above and beyond, #HOLLA!).
I cannot stand asking for money AND I believe that this is not "giving money", this is "giving life". To put this $2,500 into perspective... it costs $2,200 to stay in a residential facility for ONE NIGHT. Donating is a way for you to not only show your support for our crawl, our walk... it is also a way to show up for the millions of individuals and families affected by eating disorders every single day... correction: every single minute of every hour of every day.
***A little perspetive... taking a "fitness class" costs approximately $26-34... would you be willing to pass up that class for one day and sit with your Divine body just as it is to honor the millions of people who are fighting for their lives to "be still".***
Thank you so much for your support, your love and your willingness to dig deep into the hard questions of life. You can also help by forwarding my page to anyone you want to encourage to join our family. There is not a single soul that this disease has not effected in some way.
I am walking, specifically, in honor of my sister *Glen still fighting the good fight... and I am walking for me, still crawling towards home.
All my love,
*names have been changed, for HIPPA purposes and because it's fun.
