Columbia, SC NEDA Walk

Grace Not Perfection

Thank you for visiting the team fundraising page for GRACE NOT PERFECTION!

Did you know that 30 million men and women will suffer from an eating disorder in their lifetimes? This is one of the many reasons that we are coming together to participate in the Columbia, SC NEDA Walk to benefit the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) on Saturday, February 17, 2018!

NEDA is a nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving programs and services to individuals and families affected by eating disorders. NEDA is dedicated to erasing the stigma surrounding eating disorders, promoting positive body image and discouraging dangerous diet behaviors. 42% of 1st-3rd grade girls want to be thinner. Influenced by media, toys and peers, the age which individuals are being diagnosed with eating disorders is getting younger and younger; therefore it is imperative that the work of NEDA continue in order to increase awareness, to provide early intervention and to improve access to treatment.

We are asking for your support to help reach our team fundraising goal. Donating to our fundraising page is a way for you to not only show your support for us, but also to show your support for the millions of individuals and families affected by eating disorders. There is a significant lack of funding to combat eating disorders and their devastating consequences. Eating disorders received only $.93 per affected individual for research last year. Other mental illnesses, such as Alzheiber’s averaged $88 per affected individual. Since 2009, NEDA Walks have been bringing communities together nationwide in the fight against eating disorders. NEDA Walks raise funds for NEDA’s lifesaving programs that help thousands of people every day!

Your contribution will help fund NEDA’s National Helpline, National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, NEDA Navigators and countless other lifesaving programs.

Any amount you can contribute will make a difference in the fight against eating disorders. With your help, we are one step closer to our fundraising goal.

Thank you so much for your support! You can also help by forwarding this page to anyone you think might want to support this important cause with us!
