2nd Annual NYC NEDA Walk
Currently 35 million females and 10 million males in the US battle eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. Surprising statistics about what is commonly thought of as a "silent battle."
This fall, NEDA invites you to help change that perception, by joining us for the 2nd Annual NYC NEDA Walk. Round up your family, friends and co-workers for a memorable morning to help and support those affected by eating disorders.

ABOUT THE NEDA WALK
Is pre-registration required? We strongly encourage pre-registration so you have the opportunity to receive important event materials and information in advance. This also helps us be more prepared, so we have enough tee shirts, snacks and facilities for everyone. However, we will accept onsite registrations ($5 more) and donations on the day of the event.
How long is the walk? The NEDA Walk is not a timed or competitive walk and is not a race. Participants will be free to stroll at their own pace and choose the distance they are most comfortable with. We recommend 2 laps around the promenade area, but this is merely a suggestion. The approximate length of the 2 laps would equal 1.6 miles, but again, we stress you walk at your own pace and comfort level/distance.
Are participants required to fundraise? Yes, support from family and friends is crucial to the success of this event. Participants are encouraged to do their very best. We suggest setting your individual fundraising goal at $500, but of course you're welcome to exceed that! Your NEDA Participant Guide will give you ideas, and feature some exciting fundraising incentives for you.
Can I bring my dog? Yes! Dogs can walk with you, on leashes, for an additional $5. Public park rules will apply, and you must curb your dog.
What should I wear? The NEDA Walk takes place rain or shine, so we suggest dressing appropriately for the weather on October 3rd. Dressing in layers is always a good idea, as is bringing a lightweight drawstring backpack with gloves, a hat, sunscreen, rain poncho, even an extra pair of socks - this way you're prepared for the outdoors. Comfortable sneakers and a smile, of course, are mandatory!
