Guest Speaker: Jenni Schaefer

Jenni Schaefer

Jenni Schaefer is an internationally known author and speaker whose work has helped change the face of recovery from eating disorders.

Her breakthrough bestseller, Life Without Ed, popularized an approach that enables men and women to personify their illness (Jenni called hers "Ed," short for "Eating Disorder") and "divorce" themselves from it. Her latest book, Goodbye Ed, Hello Me, takes the journey a step farther, from recovery to liberation. In July 2013, her third book, Almost Anorexic: Is My (or My Loved One’s) Relationship with Food a Problem?, will be released by Harvard Health Publications and Hazelden.

Jenni will have copies of Almost Anorexic, as well as her other books and CDs for sale at the walk, and will be signing all purchased books, CDs, as well as any books brought to the walk and all proceeds will be donated to NEDA! Jenni will also be singing a song or two for us, so be prepared to be entertained as well!

Jenni is a regular guest on national radio and television shows including Dr. Phil and Entertainment Tonight, a contributor to mainstream magazines and collections like the Chicken Soup series, and a popular speaker at schools including Harvard and Yale, conferences, and other venues. She is also a consultant with Center for Change and Chair of the Ambassador’s Council of the National Eating Disorders Association. Her work has been recognized in publications including Cosmopolitan, The New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, and more.
